What to Wear to Dance Class
Helpful Information

Pre-Ensemble Hip Hop Jazz/Ballet/ Tap for Grades 1 & 2
This class is designed for the dancers looking to further develop their dance education in a positive and encouraging environment. Ensemble dancers will have a blast as they gain confidence and get a great workout in this 60-minute class. Dancers will improve their technique and performance abilities in this extraordinarily high energy hip hop/ jazz, super fun tap, and beautiful ballet class. During ballet, students will learn barre combinations set to classical and lyrical music and focus on body placement and terminology while working center floor. Dancers will learn all styles of jazz including street funk, Broadway and of course – hip hop! High energy jazz will include a stronger focus on technique during center and across the floor combinations and routines. Beginner tap work will continue with fun upbeat barre combinations and the introduction to blending taps together to create tap sequences. This class participates in two routines in the Recital, including the featured Ensemble Opening Production Routine.

Ensemble Hip Hop Jazz/ Ballet/Tap for Grades 3 & 4
This class focuses on advancing your dancers’ technique, stage presence, strength, and flexibility. This class is designed for dancers looking to advance their dance education in a positive, encouraging environment. Dancers will improve their performance abilities in this high energy jazz, super fun tap and beautiful ballet class. Ensemble dancers will have a blast as they gain confidence and get a great workout in this 90-minute class. During ballet, students will learn longer intricate barre combinations set to classical and lyrical music and continue to focus on dancing with expression and emotion while working center floor. Dancers will learn all styles of jazz including street funk, Broadway and of course – hip hop! High energy jazz will include a stronger focus on technique during center and extended across the floor combinations and routines. Advancing tap work will continue with fun upbeat barre combinations and work on center floor tap sequences focusing on clarity and quick transitions. This class participates in three routines in the Recital, including the featured Ensemble Opening Production Routine.

Musical Theater Jazz/Ballet Grades 4 and Up
Dancers will learn ballet & jazz choreography from some of the greatest Broadway shows in musical theater history. If you love watching the dancing in famous musicals this class is for you. Class curriculum is based on ballet/lyrical technique layered with Broadway style jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, and combinations. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills and telling a story through dance. A great place for advanced dancers to brush up on technique and combination retention while having a great time in a relaxed and positive atmosphere! This class participates in two routines in the Recital. It is suggested that this class is taken in addition to your Ensemble/Performance Ensemble lessons.
