Children will work in age appropriate groups and go through all of the steps that Hollywood producers go through from “Action” to “That’s a Wrap!” Programs focus on creativity, cooperation, and fun fun fun! Your child will be a real filmmaker and will have a movie they created to prove it.AM Session: Live Action Flix - Discover your film making talents! You don’t have to be an actor to take part, as we'll guide you through the Hollywood process to create, direct, film, act, and more. You won't just make an incredible movie, you'll have the skills to make your own movies with friends. *$35 Production fee included in the price of program. Experience painting, printmaking, stained glass, ceramics, collage, mosaics, fabric art and working with clay. Rockin RocketsChildren will step into the shoes of a rocket scientist and learn the fundamentals of flight, propulsion, and rocket design. We'll have fun exploring astronomy and trying out various flight designs from hot air balloons to hovercrafts (and many more!) We'll launch a real model rocket every day and kids will build and take home their own Mad Science model rocket.Crazy ChemworksWe'll learn about the tools scientists use in their laboratories, as well as atoms, molecules and reactions, acids and bases, fluorescence, and phosphorescence. We'll also examine and investigate super sticky things by exploring suction, hydrogen bonding and static cling. We'll also see some very cool dry ice demonstrations! Continue the science at home with fun lab wear take-homes and experiments. NASA Space & BeyondChildren explore space and engineering using LEGO® bricks in this fun full day program from Mad Science! Space - experience our program co-designed by NASA and Mad Science! From our Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this hands-on program sends children on a quest for exploration! Comets, planets, stars and more are all waiting to be discovered. Explore the farthest reaches of our solar system and create a lunar eclipse in this “mad” planetary tour! Learn about the four forces of flight and the challenges of space travel, build your very own rocket to take home and participate in an awesome rocket launch!Crayola Imagine Arts Academy Building WondersThroughout history, humans have created some incredible wonders. Mad Science of Western New England is the leading science enrichment provider in the region. Since 1998, we have delivered unique, hands-on science experiences for children through after-school programs, birthday parties, in-school and on-site kids' workshops, summer programming and special events such as stage shows and hands-on discovery centers. We provide our unique "edutainment" in Western and Central MA, Northern CT and Southern VT & NH. Our mission is to inspire children through science, sparking lifelong imagination and curiosity.Splish Splash Art BlastThis inspiring week of art-ventures sparks creativity, engagement, exploration and individual expression. Learn about the fascinating underwater world of seahorses, sea turtles and other wonderful creatures while exploring original art forms and techniques. Design beach hats, sunglasses, and T-shirts. Create ocean slime and discover the art of mosaics while creating seashell boxes. Sculpt shimmery coral and goofy clay octopuses. Paint ceramic fish banks, and design ocean creature stuffed animals. Experience painting, printmaking, stained glass, ceramics, collage, mosaics, fabric art and working with clay. Rockin RocketsChildren will step into the shoes of a rocket scientist and learn the fundamentals of flight, propulsion, and rocket design. We'll have fun exploring astronomy and trying out various flight designs from hot air balloons to hovercrafts (and many more!) We'll launch a real model rocket every day and kids will build and take home their own Mad Science model rocket.Crazy ChemworksWe'll learn about the tools scientists use in their laboratories, as well as atoms, molecules and reactions, acids and bases, fluorescence, and phosphorescence. We'll also examine and investigate super sticky things by exploring suction, hydrogen bonding and static cling. We'll also see some very cool dry ice demonstrations! Continue the science at home with fun lab wear take-homes and experiments. NASA Space & BeyondChildren explore space and engineering using LEGO® bricks in this fun full day program from Mad Science! Space - experience our program co-designed by NASA and Mad Science!
