Youth will be introduced to the sport of cross-country. They will train to race distances of up to 3K, depending on their age, and participate in races in Longmeadow and at outside meets. Emphasis will be on physical fitness and individual improvement. All youth will run the Longmeadow Cross-Country 2K race, which will take place on Saturday mornings. Middle school youth will compete in three to four meets against other middle schools, typically at the 3K distance, including the middle school state meet. Elementary school students will have the opportunity to compete at the elementary school state meet in November at the 2K distance.Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6pm.
